About MoorInnov

MoorInnov is an independent civic-research initiative dedicated to documenting the Moroccan entrepreneurial ecosystem as a transnational network of actors — individuals, organizations, and institutions that contribute to entrepreneurship, innovation, investment, and venture creation through meaningful ties to Morocco.

Membership in this ecosystem is not defined by geography. It is defined by identity, leadership, ownership, or active engagement. Any startup, investor, incubator, accelerator, university, research center, corporation, public institution, or support organization founded, led, managed, or significantly operated by Moroccans belongs to the ecosystem — whether it operates in Casablanca or Rabat, Paris or Montréal, Dubai or Dakar.

Drawing on the literatures of entrepreneurial ecosystems, transnational and diaspora entrepreneurship, knowledge networks, and innovation systems, the atlas treats innovation, capital, and collaboration as flows that increasingly cross borders. What holds the ecosystem together is the participation of Moroccan entrepreneurial actors and the relationships they sustain, not the coordinates on which they sit.

The atlas serves three communities. Practitioners use it to find capital, partners, programs, and peers across a globally distributed network. Researchers use it as a citable dataset on the structure and evolution of a transnational ecosystem. Policymakers use it to benchmark regional density, evaluate program reach, and understand the ecosystem's diaspora footprint.

Methodology

Every actor in MoorInnov is reviewed by ecosystem contributors before publication. Records combine primary founder interviews, public regulatory filings, and open-source data. We refresh capital and headcount data quarterly, and publish sources for every insight brief.
